Interview Tips
So you have an interview - great! Now to be prepared:
- Know about the employer - research the organization online or pick up some of their marketing materials at their office.
- Know how to dress - first impressions are critical - choose business casual style.
- Know what is on your resume - you may be asked to discuss anything you wrote.
- Know your strengths (with examples) - are you energetic, enthusiastic, good at details?
- Know your accomplishments - projects, internships, student organizations, etc.
- Know industry trends and challenges - you can impress employers when you do your homework
- Know appropriate questions to ask when it's your turn - avoid questions about benefits, salary, or promotions until the employer makes you an offer. Remember to show interest, especially in their needs!
