Bachelor of Arts in Accounting
Careers with an Accounting DegreeProgram Overview
Today, demand is high for professionals with strong backgrounds in credit collection, accounts receivable, cost & operational accounting, and inventory control. The bachelor of arts in accounting is more comprehensive in the breadth and depth of accounting courses required. Students who plan to become Certified Public Accountants should pursue this degree option. Florida (and many other states) requires students to complete 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam. This includes a minimum of 30 additional credits after the completion of the undergraduate degree, with at least 12 of those credits in additional accounting courses. All of the courses needed to meet these requirements are available and are offered at Saint Leo.
