What's New This Term?
Welcome
to the first edition of The OnLion,
the Center for Online Learning's Faculty Newsletter. Congratulations
to our “Name the Newsletter” contest winners Don
Gregory, Ray Quillin, and Patricia Wheeler. In addition,
we would like to thank the following faculty members for their
creative suggestions: Kathy MacLellan, Pat Guthrie, Kevin Mallory,
Lucia Farriss, Robert Whale, Gwen Whitham, Brent Heard, Hadia
Chaker, Tom Rothruaff, Bill Foley, Anne Kuhta, Brian Butterly,
Iain Duffy, Richard Dery, and Jody Conway.
The COL would like to remind you
that beginning with the Summer I Term all correspondence between
faculty and students must remain in the classroom. Please
use the internal email client provided within the Communicate section
of your individual class to send and receive messages.
In keeping with this new policy
please make sure you have removed all references to your personal
email address in your class news, the body of your biography,
syllabus, and any other files
or attachments given to students.
Please remember, however;
the COL staff will continue to correspond with you via your
personal email account. The
accuracy of your contact information is crucial. Make sure
that all contact information has been updated utilizing the form
provided through the Faculty Users Guide located on the COL website.
Scheduling changes regarding discipline
chats will take effect as of Summer I Term. Turn to page
2 for more information.
The “Chatterbox” will be live every Wednesday from
noon until 1pm. See page 2 for more information.
