TurnItIn.com Policy

As of Spring II 2005, Saint Leo University’s Center for Online Learning will be implementing a policy whereby instructors of all writing intensive courses will be required to use Turinitin.com. Some of you may already be familiar with Turnitin.com as many of our professors already use it on their courses. Turnitin.com is a plagiarism detection tool that helps instructors determine if a piece of work is original or if it has been matched to an alternate source. This tool, while useful for detecting plagiarism, is also very valuable in assisting students to become better writers while creating original work.
What this means for you as a student is that you may be required to submit assignments to Turnitin.com if you take a writing intensive course.
