SLU 101 - Strategies for Success
SLU Strategies for Success Course Description
All new students at Saint Leo University’s Center for Online Learning must successfully complete and pass SLU 101 Strategies for Success during their first term. SLU Strategies for Success Course is a one credit course with no charge for tuition. SLU Strategies Course is part of the mandatory curriculum set forth by Saint Leo University. This course is instructor-led and students will have the same access and expectations for this course as any other course within the SLU curriculum. SLU Strategies for Success Course is required of all new students. This course introduces and orients students to online academic life, preparing them to be active, independent learners and thinkers. University policies and procedures are also reviewed.
SLU Strategies Success Course Evaluation
The SLU Strategies for Success Course is graded on a pass/fail basis. Students will need to pass the course to continue taking classes. Students who do not pass SLU Strategies Course will only be allowed to register for SLU Strategies for Success Course during their next term at Saint Leo University. Students, who fail SLU Strategies for Success Course a second time, may NOT register for additional courses at the University. Any student who fails SLU Strategies for Success Course is only permitted to withdraw from the course one time after receiving the initial “F.” Any student who withdraws from SLU Strategies for Success Course two times after failing will no longer be eligible to attend classes at Saint Leo University.
First Term Grades
Any student receiving a grade of “F” in a class (excluding the Strategies for Success Course) during his/her initial term will be permitted to take only one class during that student’s second term at Saint Leo. The student must repeat the course in which he/she received the grade of “F”. If the student receives two failing grades during his/her first term, that student will repeat one course during each of the earliest possible terms.
SLU Strategies Course Attendance
Students are expected to view the course materials and complete all assignments in the week they are offered. Students may work ahead if they so choose, but they may NOT fall behind. Students must log onto the site often enough to remain abreast of communications in the Class Announcements, Discussion Boards, and/or email. It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of everything happening in the class online.
